Swap a 3G Device
- Turn off the device.
- Turn on the replacement device. Note that the new device cannot already be in the Active or Suspend State. If it is in the Deactive state, call Customer Service to have it deleted from your account before initiating the swap.
- Use ChangeDeviceIdentifier to change the ESN or MEID.
Move an Active SIM into a new 4G M2M Device (replace 4G hardware)
Move the SIM to the new hardware and connect the device on the network. The ThingSpace Platform will recognize the hardware change when the device connects.

Put a New SIM in an Existing 4G Device
- Verify that you know one of the identifiers of the device, such as the IMEI, ICCID, or MSISDN.
- Turn off, disconnect, and unplug the device.
- Remove the old SIM card.
- Write down the ICCID of the new SIM card, or locate it on the packaging.
- Install the new SIM card.
- Connect the device, then plug it in and turn it on.
- Use the '''ChangeICCID''' option of the Change4GDeviceIdentifier API to enter the new SIM ID.
Replace a 4G Device and use the Current SIM
- Verify that you know one of the identifiers of the device, such as the IMEI, ICCID, or MSISDN.
- Turn off, disconnect, and unplug the device.
- Remove the SIM card from the device.
- Install the SIM card in the new device.
- Write down the IMEI of the new device, or locate it on the packaging.
- Connect the device, then plug it in and turn it on.
- Use the '''ChangeIMEI''' option of the Change4GDeviceIdentifier API to enter the new device ID. You can also change the service plan if required by the new device.
Replace a 4G Device and SIM
- Verify that you know one of the identifiers of the existing device, such as the IMEI, ICCID, or MSISDN.
- Turn off, disconnect, and unplug the existing device.
- Write down the ICCID of the new SIM card and the IMEI of the new device, or locate the IDs on the packaging.
- Make sure that the SIM card is installed in the new device.
- Connect the device, then plug it in and turn it on.
- Use the '''ChangeICCIDandIMEI''' option of the Change4GDeviceIdentifier API to enter the new device IDs. You can also change the service plan if required by the new device.

- Turn off, disconnect, and unplug the 3G device.
- Write down the ICCID of the new SIM card and the IMEI of the 4G device, or locate the IDs on the packaging.

- Write down the ESN or MEID of the 3G device, or locate the IDs on the packaging.
- Connect the 3G device, then plug it in and turn it on.
- Use the '''4Gto3G''' option of the Change4GDeviceIdentifier API to enter the new device ID. You can also change the service plan if required by the new device.
